Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Last week I splurged and gave in to my soul's desire to purchase the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette. I love the original Chocolate Bar Palette like I love cake, how could I not fall madly in love with the second? The palette is full of beautiful chocolate hues including caramels, mochas and a splash of pink and blueberry. Once again, it has the delicious scent of chocolatey goodness as well as the identical layout to the original with 14 small shades and two larger ones which are highlighting shades. There are matte, shimmer and satin finishes mixed amongst the coloursI have only used the palette a bunch of times and already some favourite colours are emerging! Peanut Butter stood out to me straight away, it's the perfect warm-toned crease/ transitional colour. Bon-Bon is such a gorgeous lid colour, a warm light caramel colour and Butter Pecan is such a beautiful highlight for the inner corner as wel as the brow-bone. The colour range is full of warm and cool-toned colours which makes it very versatile with whatever look you are trying to create. Perfect for day to night. It was cute how they popped in a little pamphlet with suggested "looks"!Unfortunately the swatches I took didn't turn out very favourbly. Some of the colours hardly showed up at all such as Pink Sugar, Nougat and Mousse. I found that the pigmentation and quality certainly isn't as impressive as the original Chocolate Bar Palette. I might see if I can take some other decent swatches and replace the ones below. But you get the picture of the shade not showing up. These ones haven't been filtered. Although the swatches aren't amazing, you can see the thee I mention above. The swatches were done in daylight but very late in the afternoon while the sun was setting. Of course the feel and touch of the shadows are buttery creamy goodness with amazing blendy abilities and long lasting power. Here are two Makeup Looks I have already created using the palette As you can see, the looks are quite different to each other which is a great point of the palette. There's clearly countless options for makeup looks which aren't alike with the 16 colours. If you are deciding on whether to spend your hard earned money on the Original or the Semi-Sweet, I would have to say my heart lies with the original, so just get that one first and once you are head over-heels, go and pick this one uo too! Of course if you are a palette addict, you NEED this one in your life!oxo Crystal
